70barracuda
recently got some door panels that use the small single arm rest with 2 mounting holes. they wiggle and move all over the place even with the screws super tight. any fixes for that? i would rather have the hockey stick style but the door has the impressions for the small rest already and the other style won't cover them up. Plus i don't want to poke a hole in the panel, they are mint
Dzimm
Hockey stick should cover the small ones, unless your truck has the rear XJ rests (pointy corners vs rounded), not sure if those will cover. Are the inner mounts loose or the screw bottoming out before tight?
70barracuda
From what I can tell it looks like the door mounts are loose.
Pete M
are the plastic bits inside the armrest broken?
Limeyjeeper
You need part no 6502112 armrest screw retainers. That holds the armrest to the door panel with a screw. They get worn and loose. Team Cherokee has them. About $4 for one armrest including the screw. Very common problem

Put an order in already. Also took a look at them because I can't leave anything alone. Along with the mounts being wobbly it looks like the screw heads were being pulled through the backing of the rest. I used some lock washers (all I had that fit in the holes) and tightened them up. 90% of the wobble is gone. I may get slightly larger ones and see if it helps along with new door mounts.
