What are the largest, functional tires that I can install on my factory 1987 4.0 mj???

31s with stock wheels

31's on factory rims  - does have about 1-3/4 budget boost but wasn't necessary for clearance.

30s fit with no concerns whatsoever.    31s with the good possibility of rubbing at full lock (can be fixed with the WJ arms)

 

stock rims are required for 31s or you will be rubbing those 31s on the flares.  probably pretty bad depending on the backspacing.

I have stupid deep backspacing and rub pretty hard in some situations with my 31's and 2.5" of lift. Keep the stock rims.
