Cali Cruse
Comanche isn't starting and I'm suspecting it's down to a fuel pump or a fuel filter. Air is there, or ignition system we've sorted out a year ago, starter is turning, battery is at 12V. So it's gotta be fuel delivery related. Anyway, practical question, where would I attach a rope to if towing the Comanche down a 25mph subdivision street for two miles to be exact? My Impreza has the tow hook pop outs, but I don't see where I can tie into the truck. I realize we're going two miles down and at slow speed, but I want to be safe-ish. Dzimm
Wrap it around the axle and go slow. If you have turns to make, keep an eye on it, make sure it's not slipping around. Can also wrap it around the bumper but you have to be very careful not to yank on it.
Pete M
do not go faster than like 5mph and the MJ driver should have their foot on the brake so the rope is always tight. When making a stop, the towed rig should do most of the actual braking so the rope stays tight. fire up your phones and put them on speaker so you can be in constant contact. Bonus points if you do it late at night when there aren't other cars on the road. super bonus points if you ignore all that crazy nonsense and just call a tow truck. Andy in Pa
Use the front axle, don't use the bumper, it will bend with the slightest force put on it with towing. Could also be the CPS, or the ignition coil distribution block. Should hear the fuel pump running when key is turned on. Turn key off/on 3 times, then turn on. Fuel pump will run then. Check for fuel pressure at the valve on the fuel rail under the hood.

Yes that's how we towed the Subaru a while back when its starter went. I was doing the breaking in it to keep the rope tight as Comanche was towing. Role reversal!Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk

It was an AutoZone part. So thankfully we were able to tow the truck no problem. Subaru did good and so did my girlfriend in braking and keeping the tension, not between us, but rather Comanche and Impreza.Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
Dzimm
That's good it's home. Yeah AutoZone doesn't have Mopar CPS so if you can hear the fuel pump running and have pressure at the rail, go ahead and run the test on the CPS, it may not show up bad in the test but it's still suspect. Mopar CPS are anywhere from $80-$100 but well worth it, I've had multiple parts store CPS fail on me as have many others.

Oh we didn't go 25mph. It was max of 5-7. Took it nice and slow. Did it late at night when there was no one the subdivision street.Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
