Ok so I’m working on my ‘86 I bought and I put fresh gas in and a new battery, crossed my fingers and said a prayer to the Jeep gods and tried to start it. It cranks but won’t start😢 so I tried using starting fluid to see if it had spark and it ran as long as I kept the starting fluid going into it so I don’t think it’s getting fuel. My dad who i was in FaceTime with since he is 1000miles away said to replace the fuel filter and see then. He then said if that don't work not to go ahead and just change the fuel pump because he had problems with his thunderbird in the 90s and all he had to do was reconnect a wire that had corroded and disconnected and his fuel pump started working again. Is that a good idea? Any other ideas that are Comanche specific problems that might be causing issues?

With this all I can’t see what engine it is, if it’s v6 I’ll have a mechanical fuel pump on the drivers side of the engine block. That fuel filter is in the back of the carburetor, where the fuel line goes in, sort of stone like.
It’s a junk carburetor anyway.

I’d check if it actually pumping anything

on the 4cyl I’m not familiar enough to tell you what to check

Check to see if your pump is pumping fuel. Since she fires and runs then you know your CPS is good and so is your spark. Check the fuel pump relay and the pump itself. Then go from there.

Sounds like no fuel to me.

Could be as simple as the fuel pump ground wire behind the driver side tail light is making poor contact or is broken. I'd re-do that first anyway just as maintenance.

Check/wiggle the two wires going into the top of the injector.  They may be loose/corroded and not making enough contact for the injector to fire.
