acfortier
Searched the thread, but didn't see anything on prep/adhesion promoters. If I were to paint any of the interior plastic trim pieces, which product would you use?
eaglescout526
I just did soap and water to clean the parts and then painted. Everything has held up fine with no adhesion promoter or anything. Some will say prep the hell out of it, others will say just a clean surface will do the trick without spending the extra money. Gjeep
There is a company I recently found called -- Paint Scratch -- that will mix up OEM factory interior specific paint/ paint colors. Paint that plays well with plastic surfaces. I'm currently building another XJ for the final kid and this one is a '99 XJ with the camel (tan) interior. Absolutely nothing SEM had available was close. In refinishing the interior panels, I can tell you this paint is just about spot-on as it's the actual Jeep K5/RK5 paint code. I still use SEM adhesion promoter and a clear for protection. Really happy with their product. Prices available on their website, but don't recall it being much more than SEM.
