ghetdjc320
This is a pretty good use case for some POR15. Is the seam is small enough, the por15 will seep town into it and seal it up, though it may take 2-3 coats to seal well. The stuff gets down into those good for nothing amc spot weld seams quite nicely.

Is it imperative for me to por the floor after I grind rust off if I’m going to sound deaden anyways (and of course fix the leak)?
ghetdjc320
Yes, but with por15 you don’t grind down to bare metal, you remove loose scale and scotch bright things then apply it.
JIMMYRIG
Ok. Anyone got ideas for waterproofing the fuse box? I think it will be easier to seal the firewall at the fuse connector than preventing water from inevitably entering the engine bay
AZJeff
I have always wondered if some sort of diversion dam could be made above the fuse box connector area, and attach it with some body seam sealer. Water that ran down the firewall would reach this dam and be diverted to the side, away from the wiring opening in the firewall.
Pete M
if I remember right, the fuse box is sealed against the firewall from the factory. eventually the material degrades and ya gotta take it apart and reseal. not a fun job.
JIMMYRIG
What would you recommend using to seal it? I've gotten pretty used to pulling the fuze box apart so shouldn't be that bad. Maybe a diy weather strip cutout?

JIMMYRIG
That's huge, thank you. I spent 50 bucks on a tube of urethane and globbed it all over the inside and outside of bulk head. Well see how it goes, if it doesn't work ill try this.
