bowtieuser Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 I have 2 4.0 comanches that start and run decent but as soon as I shut them off I can not get them to restart until they cool off?? Any suggestions? I bought a new cam/crank shaft position sensor for one of them and plan on trying that this evening.
HOrnbrod Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 How about creating a signature so we know what you are driving....
Ωhm Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 Possible leaky injector(s). Try hot start with throttle pedal held to the floor (WOT). This sets a clear flood condition.

cruiser54 Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 So, they're 88 and 89, right? The CPS can be tested and is suspected. Refresh it's connector in the engine bay. That said, I would go to www.cruiser54.com and perform tips 1 through 5 on the 88. Tip 2 does not apply to the 89.
dpoly Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 theres a wire harness on the top of the engine right next to the firewall that tends to lose connectivity causes the engine not to spark. could be the culprit
