Turbotyler Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 So I think the only option I have is cutting it off and welding on a bolt, but I figure I would ask you guys if you had any suggestions. All the other 3 came right off. This was the last one and it broke off course.
Strokermjcomanche Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Use this and cut the threads on the one side https://www.google.com/search?q=ford+shock+bolt&client=safari&sa=X&hl=en-us&biw=375&bih=559&tbs=vw:l,ss:44&tbm=shop&prmd=sinv&srpd=13519631706476011432&prds=epd:11003102764777944406,paur:ClkAsKraX5GcK-FlZ2AvqGqJ8oPrZ7jLQCX5j8_RVP_1F5_1dPz63LDScSE30M6HnXg1Gkarxs6Vcy2HEUk8zifnQ6bWsLm-MimJpJZSxX-Q0dQmwh_9w6OkWxIZAFPVH73fnODry7w7txYVfKCxAIImuNKLJw,cdl:1,cid:8490516948625372473&ved=0ahUKEwiL35i-_oPcAhVMUK0KHWDbC3kQgTYIwgQ
JeepSchmidt O'Guinness Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 I know I've seen this in a recent post. Nut cracker. No links, that's your journey.

Turbotyler Posted July 4, 2018 Author Posted July 4, 2018 Dude you are the man! Thank you so much! I could only find others with the lower bolt breaking, not the upper. Threaded rod and a welder it is.
Turbotyler Posted July 10, 2018 Author Posted July 10, 2018 Got it fixed. I picked up a 12mm - 1.75 x 30mm bolt from my local Ace, cut the head off, tapered the end of it, cleaned the area, and welded it the best I could with the room I had. If I took the bed off, I could have gotten the top much better. After these pictures, I dressed it with a grinder and dremel. I got the shock on and the nut tight, so I am happy.
Turbotyler Posted July 10, 2018 Author Posted July 10, 2018 I put the shock on before I took after pictures. Just imagine the boogers gone and the welding wire removed.
Big Dan Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 Did you have an issue threading the nut with the splatter?
Turbotyler Posted July 10, 2018 Author Posted July 10, 2018 Nope I did not. I had mig nozzle grease on it, so it came off fairly easily.
