Hi everyone,

General question about AWD and tire size.

What can you actually get away with?

Of course for all tires to be EXACTLY the same is best.  Is a 2/32" difference OK? 4/32? etc

Thanks!

Depends what type of AWD tcase you have, what surfaces you're using it on, and if there is traction aids in the axles or not.

Also, if you're going to with actual different sized tires, as opposed to just ones that have worn slightly different, most tires vary somewhat from their listed size and it is better to actually measure them.

those little differences pale compared to what happens every time you turn a corner.

but yeah, it depends on the awd system.  the 242 wouldn't care in the least. :D a fancy-schmancy modern system might have issue if the speed sensors didn't all match up.  but that is a guess on my part.  maybe the software is written in a way to accommodate tread differences.  :dunno:
