Well, that sucks -- Fuel Injector department

My '88 XJ has been off the road since my wife died four years ago. Now that the snow has receded, I was able to get underneath and patch the fuel leak -- I thought it was a gas line, turned out to be the metal fuel filter had rusted through. Got that all fixed, tried to start it this morning -- and all six injectors are leaking.

 

What's a good source for injector O-rings?

Rockauto.com or Napa but I'd go ahead and change the injectors. Order off Amazon or eBay you can get a set for about 60 bucks and comes with o rings

Mopar p/n 83503637 for your 4.0 Renix. Ebay, Amazon, etc. Probably the regulator will need new rings too...

If you haven't already you might consider upgrading to 4 or 12 hole injectors. I've been using these 4 hole injectors for a few years now, they're great. But apparently, 12 hole injectors are all the rage now.

If you only need the o-rings, get NAPA part CRB212079, all 12 o-rings and a little tool for easy installation for only $6.

Like he said, Eagle.  Swap those injectors to 4-hole 746s.  The best $52.99 I've ever spent on my MJ.

Yeah, I know. I have no idea how much longer Old Faithful can last, but I doubt it'll be more than another year or two. I would like to make 300,000 miles (it's now at 287,000). I really didn't want to sink any more money into it, but I remember that the Renix-era injectors are known for separating between the metal and plastic body, so I girded my loins and ordered a set off Amazon.

 

Which means I can't get it running this weekend.
