so first off a little backstory. a little over 5 years ago my mom bought a radio from the late 30's to early 40's. right so back story done.

 

so a few days ago she asked if I would take a look at it because it's never worked since day one.  and I figured sure why not. I own a renix jeep I can fix anything...

 

 

 

 

then I saw this

We're spoiled these days with nicely laid out components on a single circuit board. This is a nightmare by modern standards:

You had to be a real man to work on this stuff back in the day!

 

Got a manufacturer or model number for that radio? There's a small chance I could get a schematic for it.

yes, yes and yes. I found a site on line that seems to have one for this radio and a bunch of similar looking ones.

 

also not pictured was 50+ year old dust.

I find myself just staring at that mess trying to figure out how they put it together in the first place.
