what's up with this?

I can't upload ANY photos, not even a profile picture!

error message states "file too big Max total size1.95MB" . ????

eventually we will have code in place to automatically shrink uploaded photos, but it's not quite finished.

Yes, they are standard jpeg files taken with my phone .  I'm not really a photoshop guy, i do more business on my computer than playing.....

I'm a microsoft paint kind of guy, so I can sympathize.     eventually it'll all happen automatically.  it's close, but it's not here yet.  

 

there's got to be a way to do it with your phone.

Best way I've found to upload from my phone is using Tapatalk. 

 

Phone cameras nowadays have high enough resolution that the images usually exceed 2mb.  There are apps to shrink the photos at the cost of blurry images.  You might as well save some time and upload straight from Tapatalk until the auto-resizing works here.

I was just reseaching the same thing.  Everything I try and upload is too big.  Hopefully this code update is soon.  I tried starting my project post, as well as update my profile.  I guess I'll just have to wait.

most if not all photo programs should be able to shrink your pics.  even MS Paint can do it. I like to shrink mine down to around 400 or 600 pixels across and the megabites of the photo shrinks dramatically.

 

also keep in mind that there is a limit on the total of all the photos you upload to the CC server, so it's a good thing that there is a per picture limit because otherwise you could only upload a few pics.

I'm dealing with this now.  i think there is a compress photo option in paint or photo viewer but I'm not finding it yet.

don't worry about it.  our site now auto-shrinks your pics for you.    just load them straight to your post!   

 

but wile we're on the subject, in MS Paint I use "resize" and I usually do it by pixels.  I've found that 600xwhatever is plenty big for internet use.
