texasjack Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 Today when I was driving my Jeep the engine blew. I have located a rebuilt 96 cherokee with a 15000 engine for $800 asking price. The rear end is out of it. My question is will that engine work in my 1990? Thank you Texasjack
omega_rugal Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 99% chance that it will, take out everything: engine, tranny, Tcase, crossmember, shafts and axles if you you have to so it will bolt right in...
Strokermjcomanche Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 It will work , you'll need to swap some parts around though .... 15 k miles ? That's some low mileage ....
cruiser54 Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 click on the link below for detailed instructions on how to do it. works great. http://cruiser54.com/?p=100
texasjack Posted August 17, 2017 Author Posted August 17, 2017 Thank Y'all for the advice. It sounds like if you take the replacement engine down to the long block stage it will work.
