So my build has taken a turn with my purchase of 3/4 ton axles out of a 02 single wheel super duty. the font doesnt seem like it doesnt have enough room between the pumpkin and the knuckle to put the coil spring. I was thinking of using a coilover and four link in the front. The rear is simple as i am staying leaf. The ultimate goal is to turn this truck into a expedtion vehicle. So many back road and highway miles.  I have read alot about people using coil overs and four linking them on xjs. but i want to know how road worthy it will be. Any advice is help full

Edit: i am only trying to lift 4.5 maybe 5 I'm gonna stay between 33 and 35 tires.

Will a full size straight axle Dodge 1/2,3/4, or 1 ton fit in place of the MJ 4wd front axle?

Along with the 3/4 or 1 ton Ford front axle?

Or will this take some kind of extreme modifications??

I have a 3/4 ton out of a Ford and it appears to be almost five inches wider (its missing a knuckle at the moment so i can't be for sure)

the coil spring mounting point interferes with the knuckle and the pumpkin. I'm not sure about the one from a dodge.. I work at machine shop so i will be able to fab most of the piece there

Lots of 1-ton swaps out there have been done on XJ's and MJ's. quite a few companies make weld on trusses to match the xj/mj mounting locationd, coil perches, shock mounts etc. TNT Customs to name one. i have a friend who just put 1 tons under his comanche using their trusses. As far as coilovers.....as stated above, buy a quality coilover and quality control arms or a quality 4 link and you will be just fine.

Look at artec industries, they make a truss now to put the superduty axles in tj/xj that would make it where you could keep the coils, and not have to go to coil-overs
