How do I inspect it to make sure it's good and any advice before I go to look at it

And has anybody rebuilt an ARB locker before , I think I would wanna replace the seals in it just to be sure because it's used

Check Youtube for tear down videos?  Not all the ARBs are built exactly the same, and honestly I've never taken one apart.

I'd pull the air collar off and if there is ANY scoring or damage on the sealing surface I'd walk away...  Unless you can get it cheap enough to risk not being able to repair it.

As stated, check the collar and surface it rides on to be sure that thete isn't any scoring. If that collar (it's where the copper line is soldered and air initially enters the locker) is damaged at all, that's $100 right off the bat. If it is damaged, I would probably walk since there's no telling the condition. If it visually checks out, you can see if you can air pressure to it and make sure it is not leaking and listen for engagement. I've honestly never placed air on one out of the vehicle, so no clue if it would actually be a useful way to check it, but I suppose it would not hurt.

Don't wanna jinx it but I'm supposedly picking up the locker and chromolys for 450 this weekend , my luck it will fall through but I'm hoping for the best

I had a arb rd100 I pulled from a beat up trail rig I parted. I live close to them, so I took it to have it gone over. Basically walked out with only the orignal spider gears, they replaced everything else with used parts the had laying around and gave me 2 new bearings. All took less then and hour and cost me a box of doughnuts. I took them some homemade smoked cheese and a few month later I got a refurbished compressor for a couple more bricks lol. They have great service and of your local they treat you even better. A phone call and a few questions to them wouldn't hurt and is free
