Waytard22
Hey guys I'm doing a 97+ swap on my Comanche it's a 90 my trouble is I forgot to snag the windshield wiper motor from my donor. I have the 90 motor and all the wiring is from a 98. I was wondering if anyone had the pinout from a 90 XJ/Mj with the round rubber plug and the 98 oval plastic plug so I can mate the two together. Or if someone has pictures of the motor with the wires going into so i can have wipers and pass state inspection. Thanks guys Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
87MJTIM
The wiring for the 90 can be found in the 88 electrical FSM http://comancheclub.com/topic/12083-electrical-manual/ From searching on Morris Jeep in the knowledge section, there is a FSM for 96-01 XJ. In the wiring diagrams, under the wiper motor: DG/YL - Park BR/VL - High BR/WH - Low DB - Pwr BLK - Ground To connect the 90 to the 98: PWR: 90 LG/BK = 98 DB Park: 90 TN/BK = 98 DG/YL Low: 90 WH/BK = 98 BR/WH High: 90 DB/WH = 98 BR/VT Ground: 90 BK = 98 BK

You can sell your 96- wiper motor for about what you can buy a 97+ wiper motor for.
Waytard22
Thanks guys, yea thought about just swapping the whole motor, Probably better off seeing as how I don't even know if the Comanche's will work I haven't tried it yet.
Rockfrog
This is great, been thinking about using the newer motor/trans from a 2k XJ in my 88, just needed the pinout. I'll probably just change the connector style at the same time to the newer one. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
Rockfrog
Just wired in a 98 plug, converted a 2000 motor to the earlier plug, jammed it onto a 98 transmission ...Wow, I have Wipers the move the rain again, and all sorts of speeds.
