So just finished tranny swap and now she won't start. She turns over but not firing. My cps was good before but I changed it out anyway thinking it'd be the problem. The thing still won't start. what should I look at next?

The flywheel and CPS need to match whatever engine management system you're running. If you're running Renix, you need the Renix CPS and flywheel. If you've got everything from a '95 in there, you'll need the flywheel and CPS for a '95.

The flywheel I used to have was from the 95 and never had any problems with it. Are you saying that I need to swap flywheel or do I need to go to Napa and get a 95 cps?

Do you have an HO in there then? The two systems are not compatible. If the engine management is original to the truck, you'll need a flywheel and CPS for an '87. If you've got the computer and wiring and everything from a '95 in there, you need a '95 CPS and flywheel.

The Renix and HO flywheels are mirror images of each other.  The tone rings for the CPS pickup are opposite.  All the positive teeth on the Renix flywheel are negatives on the HO flywheel.  OneOverZero and I put them side by side when we swapped.  He had a spare HO flywheel from his jy engine and I had a spare Renix flywheel.  My understanding is new Renix flywheels aren't available but I could be wrong.

Are you running a Renix ignition/injection system, or the later Chrysler ignition/injection system?

To simplify, if all you did was replace the transmission, you need to use the same flywheel and CPS you had in it originally. If you are replacing the flywheel and/or the CPS, you need to replace them with the same part(s) as the originals, be it Renix or HO.
