Knucklehead97 Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 I ran my Vin number through the decoder that Hornbrod posted in the DIY section and guess what? It came up as an 89 4x4 8-foot bed J10! How crazy, I've thought this whole time that it was an MJ :D
HOrnbrod Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 That VIN decoder has gone south for some reason. This one from France works pretty well: http://www.uscars.biz/uscars.wordpress/jeep/vin-jeep/ Try it and see if it's close.
Knucklehead97 Posted September 11, 2016 Author Posted September 11, 2016 Much better! Very accurate. Can't scroll right to see the rest that's cut off though but I doubt it's important. Not sure why it has Metric Ton/Big Ton on there though? Mine is just a regular ol' Comanche from what I can tell.

Minuit Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Maybe your J10 got hit by a shrink ray at some point in its life?
dustyinthedirt Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 so what does metric ton big ton mean? *Cough*Hornbrod*Cough*
cj_sackett Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Metric ton package was the Comanche that came with the D44 in the rear and some overload springs
HOrnbrod Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 so what does metric ton big ton mean? *Cough*Hornbrod*Cough* It's just listing all the different MJ models and equipment for the year all weigh between 5001#-6000# GVW for the VIN 4th character.
Knucklehead97 Posted September 11, 2016 Author Posted September 11, 2016 If it had been saying that my Jeep was a Metric Ton then I would be asking the PO where my dang D44 is at...
