Tranny questions

So I ordered a reman ax15 and on the phone call they asked me how many bolts on in the transfer case shifter. What did they mean by that? They might call me again this morning asking it again. There was another question too by I can't remember it

It might have to do with the type of tcase: 231, 242, 229 etc.   :dunno:

Never looked, but probably has to do with changes in the brackets that bolt to the side of the trans. The t-case linkage mounts off that bracket.

The 231 T case linkage bracket attaches to the trans/transfer case using 2 of the studs/bolts.
