Blue88Comanche
yesterday the new Comanche body for my Axial SCX10 arrived. I spent most of the Day on it and i think it turned out awesome. I still need to go back and touch up a few spots (paint black trim around the windows, and the rear bumper) Front and side decals installed by Blue88Comanche, on Flickr Rear Decals on by Blue88Comanche, on Flickr Instagram Progress by Blue88Comanche, on Flickr Front Flex by Blue88Comanche, on Flickr Rear Flex by Blue88Comanche, on Flickr

daking
The more I see these, I think how cool it would be to have a clone of mine, a "mini me" :) Think a clone of this MJ can be made in scale? What something like this cost ~$800 to $1500? Image Not Found
Blue88Comanche
A RTR Axial SCX10 Honcho and a Comanche body are all you'd need to get started. The price can vary but I think the honcho starts at $300. But really you are shooting for a 12.3" wheelbase. Later on you can upgrade the control arms to metal links, and a few other upgrades. I bought a rolling cassis. I lucked out because it said no electronics where included but it came with everything but a battery, remote, body, and wheels. I have about $400 into mine. Automan also has one. I think he picked his up on Craigslist for relatively cheap. I also saw a couple in the classifieds. Idk if they are still for sale or not. 87Warrior
The ProLine MJ body is nice. I ran one for years and beat it into the ground and rolled it down mountains (literally). Get the floor pan as well to keep trail grime out of the interior and off the motor/transmission, especially if you like water/mud. The Honcho is a fantastic truck. It looked like hell so I just recently replaced the body with a second-hand Deadbolt body. I really like the narrowed front and rear body over the full width MJ body. I also replaced the old Axial AE2 ESC with a new AX5 LiPo compatible ESC and it caught fire. That was fun.
Blue XJ
Where did you get the bumper, winch light combo from? That would look good on the front of mine. Image Not Found
Blue88Comanche
Where did you get the bumper, winch light combo from? That would look good on the front of mine. Its the Stock Honcho Bumper and a 1:10 scale Warn Winch. I modified the bumper to clear the larger 2.2 tires i had orignally, but just went back to 1.9s. the winch is zip tied to the bumper and i cut a slot out on the front skid. 87Warrior
rccrawler.com has an great forum I like RPP Hobby, Tower Hobbies, Fast Eddy Bearings and Amazon for parts. If you have a good local hobby shop go in there and start asking questions as well. Generally the hobby shop and online distributors are priced similarly in my experience. Now I have some 1.9 4wdrc Rock Crushers the look nice and seem to be plenty sticky. Haven't taken it out on the rocks yet. Blue88Comanche
Mounted up the new 4wdrc tires on some cheap Axial beadlocks. They where a bit stiff with the foam and being in non-vented wheels didend help much. but after the foam was removed it seems to do very well. these tires are noticeably shorter than the other sets i had. making the rocks a bit more challenging.
