JeepCop44 Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Hey everybody, I'm Sam from NC. I'm planning on picking up an '89 Pioneer later today. It's the 4.0, 4x4 and I believe is sitting at 144k. It has a knock, but is comming with another engine. It's gonna be a project, but hoping to restore it for under $3000. Truck itself is costing me $900. I had an XJ in high school and college, and loved being in that forum. Right now I'm driving an 06 Dakota. I'll try to post some pictures sometime tonight, and will probably start up a project thread. In the near future l.
Minuit Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Is it a really awful, deep knocking sound? If it's an automatic I'm willing to bet it just needs the flexplate bolts tightened. When I first got mine I was told it needed an engine RIGHT AWAY but 20 minutes and a few tightened bolts later and it no longer needed an engine.
JeepCop44 Posted March 11, 2016 Author Posted March 11, 2016 It's a manual, and actually got to lookin and it's an '88. Cranked it with a jump, but it was leaking gas real bad around the intake/exhaust. Body looks good all the way around. I'll post pictures when I figure out how
JeepCop44 Posted March 11, 2016 Author Posted March 11, 2016 Is there a way to post pictures in a thread from my phone?
fiatslug87 Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 You need to host the pictures on something like photobucket and link them in this forum. Good luck with the truck.
JeepCop44 Posted March 11, 2016 Author Posted March 11, 2016 So I linked the pics, but how do you get them to show up on the actual thread and not just the blue link?
64 Cheyenne Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Your not copying and pasting the right code, try one of the other ones, don't give up, it's real easy.
