Jackrabbit41
Could someone get me that speedo gear chart? I can't find t anywhere. I got my tax return so I got some money to spend so after months of no speedo I thought maybe I should get her going again.
Jackrabbit41
I found a lot but they all say different things. I have 4.10s and 33s
gogmorgo
http://www.quadratec.com/jeep_knowledgebase/article-46.htm You want the older style long shaft gear for a stock MJ, not the short. 4.10 and 33's is pretty close to the factory final drive, so your stock gear should be fine. If not, I'd think you want a 34 tooth, maybe a 36.
88whitemanche
Which transfer case did you use? The original from your truck or the one from the xj?
HOrnbrod
4.10's w. 33" tires = 35T long shaft gear http://gojeep.willyshotrod.com/HowtoSpeedoGears.htm
Jackrabbit41
Which transfer case did you use? The original from your truck or the one from the xj? The one from the xj. But ever since I swapped it in I haven't gotten the gears to mesh up but I haven't really spent more then 2 minutes trying to figure it out haha. 88whitemanche
As mentioned above you would need a 35tooth long shaft hear to keep running the mechanical speedo gear... Just a twist speed position will get it back to spec for your set up... It did take a bit of maneuvering to get it right when I swapped my mechanical speedo gear to a 96 np231
