3/4"x16 is the oil filter thread used by the HO years, so yes.

^^ That means HO (91 and up) only, unless you change the goofy Renix metric threaded oil filter adapter, which should be done anyhow.

I know a guy in the parts dept at a Ford dealer and I prefer OEM filters so that's good to know.

Yep, same here ... Been using FL-1A's on all my 4.0 and 2.5's since back in 92 when I had a YJ. Swapped my OFA nipple so my Renix uses them too. Pretty much the most common filter size/pattern around you can practice buy them at a 7-11.

Do the standard oil filters not have enough capacity?

They do, but more filter media is always better ... These have twice the filter media due to being twice as long. It also means a bit more oil in the mix so more oil and more filter ... Win, win.

Also the older metric threaded filters are getting harder to find, are usually costlier, and have limited size and manufacturer options.  More win, win, win.

Gotta love those RockAuto discounted parts emails. Think I currently have 8 oil filters in the parts cabinet.
