FarmerBrown5
Over the last year I have been able to collect 6 center caps for the factory turbine wheel. Now all I am missing is the wheel haha. Not sure when Ill be making this purchase, but I have looked around to find someone who is refurbishing them. Rockauto sells them, but they are always out of stock in the chrome, but have them in a cast look. Just curious if anyone knows of a place or not that you can find them redone. I know this has been asked at least once before and they are hard to find, but I thought I would get my answers direct  Thanks for any help offered! rmoore1031
^ not a horrible price really considering especially with shipping. I'd look at junkyards and a pressure washer personally...
glundblad
for those that are considering purchasing these in the future, when I was restoring my MJ, I saw these for sale in ebay. I cannot remember the name of the company that was selling them. Anyway, they shipped 4 of them to me. Some came from one location. Others came from another location. All 4 looked good. However, the color of the clearcoat didn't match. There were 3 noticeable colors in the set of 4. I disputed it with them and they would not returns. They claimed they sold 4 wheels to me. Not a set of 4???? They sent me return labels only after I disputed it with my credit card company. The moral of the story is if you buy a set, make sure they all came from the same company from the same location. I eventually sent my 4 factory wheels off to a company called Transwheel (spelling may not be exact). They match.
FarmerBrown5
Thanks for the help you guys! Yeah, do not want them to be mismatched at that price. Hard to find them around here and the comanches that hit the main junkyard we go to have yet to have a set, or even one turbine. There are some very good junkyards in Indiana, but hours away from my location.
HOrnbrod
I bought four of these HERE in 2012 for $100/ea shipped. The Grey Tan with a Machined Face style. All matched perfectly, no differences. Then I bought one more a couple of years later for the spare. It matched the original four.
Keyav8r
The price has increased to $151 for reconditioned gray with machined face. Considering they're probably harder to get now than then and the general tendency for prices to increase over time, the old supply and demand thing comes into play, not a bad price. Don't think that I'd pay $297 for chrome, but then my unicorn is a set of original 10 holes (with rivets).

AFAIK those wheels were never offered in chrome, only with rough cast centers with gray recesses, and machined rims and spoke faces. Considering the price for alloy wheels, $129/wheel is a very good price.
HOrnbrod
There were two versions of this wheel offered from the factory: P/n 52000025, Dull, Rough Finish in Circle Area, and P/n 52002735, Smooth, Glossy Finish in Circled Area The "circled area" referred to the outer rim area between the spokes, and the 52002735 wheel was polished alloy, not chrome. I've never seen them, and can not even find a picture of them. But, according to the parts manual, they were available on pre-1987 XJ and MJ models. If that's what you want, you'll have to DIY or bring an "as cast" set of wheels to a specialized shop. Read $$$ maximus..........
Keyav8r
The website offers two chrome plated options, reconditioned and used. Not saying there was an OEM chrome plated option.
Eagle
The website offers two chrome plated options, reconditioned and used. Not saying there was an OEM chrome plated option. Be VERY careful when buying crome-plated alloy wheels. I'm sure everyone knows how long re-chromed bumbers last -- typically about three months before the rust starts popping through. And that's on steel. Chrome plating on aluminum alloy is a lot more complex, and requires not only perfect surface preparation but also coating with a base coat of copper and then a couple of other, intermediate steps before the final layer of chrome can be applied. It's a lengthy and expensive process if done correctly. IMHO, it's unlikely that any chrome-plated Jeep 10-spoke wheels you find on the Internet will be done properly. I wouldn't waste my money, especially since chrome wasn't an OEM option anyway.
HOrnbrod
I had a set of ZJ chromed wheels early on and used them for about 4-5 years. No problems at all. Of course, I'm not in the rustus-maximus belt either......

Guest
They were 15" x 7". Didn't the XJ's have those same wheels for a year or two in the late 90's?
Doc.
They were 15" x 7". Didn't the XJ's have those same wheels for a year or two in the late 90's? Yes, I've had a couple XJ's with those rims. I want to say it was the country edition they were on?? The ones I've seen were gold or grey with machine finished ribs. If I remember right they had fake wood grain interior accents too.
