Dirtyace14
Hey guys, Just picked up a decent 88 MJ. 4x4 5 speed, 4.0. Dana 44 rear with the 3.07s. I have a lifted TJ Rubi and this MJ will mark my 13th jeep so I am not new by any means. I am looking for a good 3-6 inch lift so I can clear a 33x12x16. This jeep is going to be an around town rig with some beach trips nothing crazy. What are my options? Looking to do it right as I want it to drive it with 0 issues. Budget is under 1,000 but I would rather be closer to 500. Also looking to do at least the front track bar since the stock one needs new bushings at both ends as is. Let me know whats out there. Thanks.
Pete M
the front suspension is identical to XJs and almost the same as your TJ so you'll be working with the same stuff. the rear is different but can be done cheap since you'll gain 5 inches or so from an SOA flip. some good ideas here: http://comancheclub.com/topic/43844-the-diy-700-off-road-capable-soa/
Jackrabbit41
Do the alexia 5.5 lift. I haven't put it in yet but it ran me about 600-700$. Alexia is a member on this site who pieced it together. Most of the parts on his list are cheaper on Amazon

89eliminator
there is a LOT of differences between a 3" and 6" lift. are you ok with cutting fenders or do you want to keep the fenders untouched?
mikekaz1
don't RUIN YOUR REAR FLARES. they ARE MJ specific and are not reproduced. they ARE different than XJs
chopper35nj
For the rear SOA sounds like your best bet if you don't mind the axle wrap and a long arm kit and springs in the front is going to be about your only option to keep your geometry in order...... along with that adjustable track bar. Three inches and some trimming would be a lot easier on your wallet and your truck, can you live with 32"s, or do you just happen to have the 33"s on hand?
