Rear disk conversion.

Found this on Facebook. Think it's a good price for a rear disk conversion? Was thinking about getting it just so I would have all the parts for the conversion other than the P-valve. And yes, I know this doesn't improve braking as much as the dual diaphragm upgrade. I plan to do both ASAP. Thanks!

That price is cheaper that then guy from cherokeeforum. Passenger side KJ brake cables will work, they are long but work.

95/96 dual dia booster does not require mod or brake pedal change. Not sure about MJ, but the older XJ MC has separate reservoirs for front/rear so if you get into the rear brakes you do not have to bleed the front and vice versa.

MJ does have the seperate reservoirs for front and back. And yeah, my reasoning for getting a WJ is because theres like 10 at the junkyard but only one 96 or 95 XJ and it has a weird MC that doesn't have a booster... I've gotta get up the cash to piece together everything for all these mods. After buying that kit I would need to adapt the emergency brake cables, get pads and emergency brake shoes, and a ZJ P-valve?

The ends on the e-brake cables are a bit different for disk, than drums. Some loop the cable around the attachment to the disk brake. OPs MJ stock or lifted? I did look at E-Brake cables for XJs. 87-96 use the same length brake cables. I think GC cables will work, but a bit longer. 97-up are two different lengths. I think KJs will work on one side and GC the other. I don't have my list with me. I went through Rock Autos site as they listed lengths. I'll see what I can find.

I looked. MJs are 52 inches. I didn't see anything in Jeeps. I think some use Ford Explores on latter XJs, for the long side. I did look at Ford Contours. They list 57 inch length. I have two new ones at home. I'll try and look at them.

Edit: I looked at Rock Auto again. 06 Commander Rear Left is 51.5 inches.

Edit: Ford Contour will not work. It has ends more like drum brakes would have.

Mines stock height and will not be lifted more than 2" when I'm done with it. I appreciate the searching. And Hornbrod, thanks! Great to know to add those shoes and hardware to the parts list.

The XJ with "no booster" would have to be EARLY 90s or late 80s with the aweful Bendix ABS system.

I think the KJ and ZJ driver side are pretty much the same, KJ passenger side is decent long, seems almost too long for late model XJ's but works well.

Maybe ask that person if the park brake shoes are included. I would think so if they are in decent shape, but a new set plus hardware from your local parts store is probably only about 20$ and should last a VERY long time.

I'm glad that I got a really good deal on an exploder 8.8 to swap in my MJ. DOn't have to do all that extra work. Haha. I have KJ back plates for my 8.25 in my XJ that I will probably install soon after I get my truck back on the road.

I'm trying to get in contact with the guy. Haven't been awake during the day much lately lol. I'm not really worried about the parking brake cables right now. I'll figure that out when I get down to it. Theres plenty of KJ's and ZJ's in my local junkyard if I want to just piece it together myself. Thanks guys :D

About the same length, so should work. I do have an XJ lifter 6 inches in the rear. The stock e-brake cables work for me. So, lifting 2 inches shouldn't be a problem. I'll be lifting my MJ 4.5 to 5.5, I have the springs from Hells Creek and the fronts. So, I think the '06 Commanders should work for me too.
