Jackrabbit41
Today i joined a big club, the rusty floor plan club but its not that bad (so far). I pulled up the drivers side carpet where your feet sit and theres only surface rust except for a hole the size of a thumb that goes all the way through the wheel well and you can see light. I'm in my last week of school so i don't have time to pull out the hole interior this week, but in a week ill do that and sand all the rust and hope for no more holes but then what should i do? should i get it linex? its easy to clean but expensive and takes a couple days, but then what about herculiner? And other good easy to clean bed liner substance. Can they fill the hole?I've heard thats not easy to clean, but its cheaper. also i would get my bed and wheel wells covered with the linex too cause I've been wanting that, but its just a money thing but ill start working again soon. also, could i just prime and paint it and somehow fill the hole or get something welded on. I'm a first timer with this so give me all the details. and yes I've looked at some other stuff, but still not sure what to do. thanks and here's 4 pics of it. Eagle
First step is to determine if the water causing the rust attacked from the underside or the inside (hidden leak).
pitbull4x4
You are very lucky with only a small hole. Mine was so bad the floors needed pans both sides. But now I have rust free cab corners, outer and inner rockers and floors. I just sprayed bed liner on floors

Pretty sure it was from outside cause the previous owner bed lined the well wheels but right where the rust was there was none and plus the paint on the inside was ok while the outside was all rust
Jackrabbit41
Could I just jb weld it then get linex out over it? I've seen linex work mircles so I think that'd be strong wnough
Incommando
Does Line-X stop rust? If it was from the outside you would need to strip the pan completely and coat it from that side

If it was from the outside you would need to strip the pan completely and coat it from that side I think that I am just gunna cut out the rust spot, get a patch welded in and paint the whole thing and make sure it's sealed up and then finish it over with plastidip spray cause I've had that stuff work wonders
Jackrabbit41
Maybe get linex in the future. I've watched some videos and it seems pretty easy to weld in a patch. I just need to get a welder and hopefully that's my only hole
