PEEJ Posted January 14, 2015 Author Posted January 14, 2015 Your right,I never noticed that before,I believe the liftgates rounded at the taillight area also,I haven't paid any attention to the 97+ X.J.s A buddy of mine just bought a 97 and was wanting some parts off my 88 doner.Guess they won't work.Thanks

yellaheep Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 '97+ tail gates are steel and the hinges are inside the hatch, '96 and earlier are pressed fiberglass with hinges on the outside. Lots of other differences as well.
