High idle after injector swap

Recommended Posts

swapped volvo 743 injectors into my truck today along with a throttle body spacer. After installing both items my ideal was ridiculously high. It was around 4500 rpms and after a couple starts it looked like one of my coolant hoses broke a little and was leaking.

I have no clue what to do I tried resetting the computer but that didn't do anything. Everything got plugged back in, in the right spot.

What are things I could do.

I have a renix 4.0L

That TB spacer... is it sealed against the intake mani and TB good?  Sounds like a huge vacuum leak somewhere within that area.  That would be where I'd start.

In my personal experience, I try not to change too many things in once instance for reasons like this.  When I swapped injectors on my MJ (put Neon 703's on mine), I started and drove the Jeep for a couple days before I did anything else to the air/fuel system.  I swapped TB's on mine a few days after that once I determined the injectors weren't causing any negative results.

There are spacers to lift the Throttle Bracket up the same amount as the TB Spacer so if you did not have them installed then you will need to install them or if you don't have any then you will need to make

some make some...
