benjy_26
Does anyone have a list or chart of the poaint codes used on our trucks? I'm thinking of getting mine resprayed, and would like to stick to the original version of white. Thanks a bunch!
ggcnash
Paint codes are in your VIN which is probably the best way to know for sure. In my experiences there were a lot of variations of the same colors between year models of the MJ, and XJ especially during the Chrysler and AMC merger years. benjy_26
Ah... Thanks! The reason I ask is because my MJ isn't a super bright white like most Jeeps I've seen. Maybe mine has yellowed a bit over time?

benjy_26
By the way, I found a page that shows paint "chips" for AMC Jeeps in 1987. :D paintref.com
Jeep Driver
Your paint code is on the badge on the firewall near the brake master cylinder. Should be a two letter code....mine is CW for the color Coffee.
HOrnbrod
For the HOs the paint code is on the Body Code Plate located on the left side firewall. In the below example it is shown as "Primary Paint". It's normally a three character code; two letters and one digit. For instance my paint code is PS7. Renix is similar:
Eagle
At some point the paint color tag was on the upper radiator brace. I don't remember if that was the "new" position, or the "old" position. There should also be a tag on the driver's door that includes, among other information, the paint code.

benjy_26
lol I actually like that my truck ISN'T that bright, blue tinged white that is being used on newer vehicles. Again, maybe my truck has yellowed out with age, but I do see a bit of yellow/orange tint to it when the sun hits it compared to my buddies' Nissans, Fords, and newer Jeeps.
