dustyinthedirt Posted December 2, 2014 Share Posted December 2, 2014 i was searching through the forums and stumbled apon the parking brake recall and decided to see if my year is on the list. while searching i found this 1990 Jeep Comanche Recall Item Affected: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL: CRUISE CONTROL Date Announced: 01/04/1991 Description of Recall:MALFUNCTION OF FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM THROTTLE POSTITION SENSOR COULD CAUSE INTERMITTENT HIGH ENGINE IDLE SPEED IMMEDIATELY AFTER STARTING ENGINE. Action Need To Fix It:REPLACE THROTTLE POSITION SENSORS WITH SENSORS THAT WOULD SEND CORRECT SIGNALS TO THE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM. joester1908 Posted December 3, 2014 Share Posted December 3, 2014 Try adjusting your TPS with a multimeter. If you can't get it in the correct range, then I'd say start thinking about replacing it.
