boardmanMJ
I know this topic has been done before but What is the difference between the 5.0 injectors verses the neon injectors as an upgrade? I know both have 4 ports instead of 1 (did a stratus injector upgrade on my XJ and it seemed to make a difference to me) but are they both plug and play? Is there a fuel economy difference? I'm assuming that they both will make it idle better but I'm not sure.
onlyinajeep726
I've done both the Ford 710's (Yellow stick) and the Neon 703's. Both were a huge improvement over the stock Siemens injectors. The thing I like about the 703's over the 710's is that the 703's use a fuel rail retaining clip.
boardmanMJ
Did the 703s come in all year neons? Would the srt4 injectors be any different?
TORC811
If you are running the Renix motor, go with 746 injectors which came in the mid-90's Volvo 850. They have a 4 hole spray pattern like the 703 or the 710 but are the same poundage as the stock Renix injectors (I believe 19 #).
boardmanMJ
I just checked the local pullapart and there is only one 850 on the yard. Could those injectors be in a different model Volvo too? How much difference would the neon injectors versus the Volvo injectors be # wise. onlyinajeep726
The Ford 710's are 19# as well as the Neon 703's. The Volvo 746's are a good choice too, but the nice thing about the 710's/703's are the one piece design. They can't leak at the mid section like the stock and Volvo injectors could. Google "Jeep fuel injector upgrade" and I guarantee you'll find a ton of info on various forums. That should give you a good indication of what will suit your needs and give you years of which vehicles to look at. I can't remember which years I got what from... kook911
I just did the 746 tonight and it started up easier and idle a hell of a lot better then before.
Bobolink
The 746s are one piece. No possibility of leaks.
TORC811
I'm not 100% sure but aren't the 703/710's a different plug than the stock injectors? Like Bobolink said the 746's I have are 1 piece and the plug is the same as OEM. Check ebay - I got 6 shipped for $35 this past spring (cleaned & tested) then spent another $25 or so on new o-rings. I was looking at my dad's Volvo (which I assumed had 746's) and his are the fat-bodied, two-piece design.
