helpp 88 comanche 97+ bucket seats center console swap. E-Brake?!?!

Recommended Posts

okay so I'm doing the famous 97+ swap.. and the little less famous full interior swap. here's my problem. If i choose to use the center console from the 97 that means I'm going to have to relocate the ebrake setup. i understand i could still keep it in its orignial spot but id like to keep the center console emergency cable functional for more of an authentic feel. now. How would i go about doing this; would i need the orginal cable from my mj, or the cable off the cherokee? either way ill have to buy one new so your guys help would be greatly appreciated as to which one to buy and where. thank you - paul

If your front cable has not been replaced it will need to be as it won't be worth working with. You'll likely want new rears also and the only place I have found them is rockauto, the Raybestos is good.

You'll need to mount the handbrake and then measure for a new front cable. If you cannot find one you can make one or have one made.

Hard line cable is CHEAP CHEAP. I'll be doing this soon and will do a writeup. Alexia did this, maybe he could share some insight.

Here is what I did similar to everywhere else. http://comancheclub.com/topic/32740-alexias-1987-to-1997-comanche/page-4?do=findComment&comment=352849

I just looped the existing MJ parking brake cable under the carpet behind the seat.
