Is This A Metric Ton Badge?

Saw this on Craiglist and was wondering if this could be a metric ton truck. I can see some sort of badge on the tailgate but the picture is too grainy to see clearly.

Looks to me like an 86 XLS, as for the badge on the back, I bet it is command trac badge. That's what it looks like.

I think the " metric ton" badge was only put on the trucks in 87 or 88 . My guess is that is just for the command trac or select trac

Was there a factory Metric Ton package for the 86?  Doubt it, but do not know for sure.  The V6 had a much lower tow rating than the 87+ 4.0.  If I recall, 3500 lbs vs. 5000 lbs

Yes. '86 Metric Ton came with the stout single piece shaft AMC20 though.

So Rob, what was the factory tow rating on the 86 Metric ton package?  And how about the GVW for the Metric Ton package.  I do not have an 86 owners manual.  Did know about the AMC 20 in the 1987.

I'll have to look it up. It could be had with any engine though.
