MJ33
It is a 1989 MJ 4.0 and trans is an AX5 (?). I am considering buying this truck, I have a 1999 Auto 4WD as a donor. How much do I have to transfer from the xj in order to have it converted? Is it too much work? Thanks in advance!

benjy_26
99 into an 89? It'll be easier if you find a pre 96 donor vehicle for your conversion
Mattwheels
pre 96 would be easier, but if he as a 99 might as well do a full swap, engine, harness, dash, etc. will be a little tougher but there are tons of write ups on a 97+ swap

I agree with benjy_26 that an earlier year would be a better donor for the conversion, but if he already has the 99 he can do it.
MJ33
Yea I want it to be the least work possible bc I need it for the winter. So my guess its prob best to find an mj that s already 4wd.
