thatoneguy_ra
Hey my fellow Comanche fans. Well I'm new to the forum but not to the mj world, and. Have a problem. 1989 renix 4.0. Here it goes. Alright, start up, runs great. Once warm, idled high, I've put a scrap yard iac and tps on, and now it runs perfect until warm, before it was idling very high from the start. I disconnect vacuum from map, runs better at an idle but sputtered and misses. Reconnect, idled high. But that's not it, also, there is this squealing noise coming from the top end near he firewall, stops under throttle and load, but at an idle screams at me. All my fellow keepers are HO guys and know nothing about this renix system. Very frustrated, I hope it's the map but still not convinced, and as for then squealing I thought it was an injector because I wiggled one and it stopped, then came back, but I let her run and disconnected each one, one at a time, and it never stopped. I've been working on This truck now for two years, everything from lift to paint to exhaust. And this is the last step before I do the open cooling system swap, but don't see the point I. Doing so until she runs right Thanks in advance for any help. I know your going to say replace map then go from there, but I'd like to hear more suggestions, like should the iac plunger move in and put freely, and if so how much should it move? sinkrun
Did you adjust the TPS or just put it on? I think they need adjusted?
onlyinajeep726
Tighten the manifold bolts top to bottom. The Renix years are bad for those loosening up over the course of 25+ years. That's where I would start.

cruiser54
Did you adjust the TPS or just put it on? I think they need adjusted? Post 8 shows proper TPS procedure. But do that only after ding 1, 3, 4, and 5. And of course, checking the intake manifold bolts.
