AndrewRivers Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Does anyone have a header that'll bolt up to my 89 4.0? Even if it's an already modified pacesetter. Borla would be premium or any other good option. Manifold is leaking and want to improve air flow in and out. Will pay top dollar. Thanks!!
onlyinajeep726 Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Any year header will work, but if you get one from a '91+, you'll also have to change out the downpipe.

JeepcoMJ Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 A header is a mod. He is saying you are very restricted if you stay with 87-90 header, an that you can buy a 91+, easier to find. All you have to do with cheaper 91+ is swap to 91+ downpipe. Btw borla requires a new downpipe as well, and are different between manual and auto

onlyinajeep726 Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Well, to retain the EGR, you'll have to modify any new header (except for maybe the PaceSetter) otherwise you're pretty much limited to a stock replacement. There is a spot in the '91+ downpipe for the O2 sensor, so that won't be a problem.
