Jeep Driver
I'm upgrading to the WZ pump with reservoir in lieu of the remote tank style I have now. I need to swap pulleys as the 2.5 pulley is out further from the pump for belt alignment. Is the pulley pressed on? Any tips?
dasbulliwagen
It is pressed on and there are special removal and installation tools you need to do it. The bigger parts stores will loan them. Doesn't take long to do.

Jeep Driver
WZ pump? WJ. Brain fart.
onlyinajeep726
I was thinking you meant that but then again, the 'Z' key is nowhere near the 'J' key so I wasn't sure lol. So what's so significant about the WJ PSP over the stock MJ/XJ ones?
Jeep Driver
The 2.5 has a remote tank and I want the tank to go away. The 04 WJ that I got it from was immaculate other than the fact it was totaled. The pump looks shiny new.
ParadiseMJ
The pulley pulls off and presses on. Different pumps (even XJ, MJ pumps) have different pulleys...they're the same diameter wise but where they sit on the shaft tends to differ. When I changed pumps the old pump pulley was about 1/4" past flush on the shaft. When I mounted the old pulley on the new pump the pulley sat flush to the end of the shaft (and wouldn't go on any further). So just be aware that you could install it and still be out of line with the other pulleys.
