So I'm leaving the beloved Marine Corps. as the military draws down and we go from a War time to a Peace time and After 8 years of lovely service and multiple deployments abroad i feel it is time to move on and do something else.  So thus my trip across america. I will be leaving Virginia driving through TN TX NM CO WY MT ID. then after i am in ID a few days or weeks i am Moving down to TX and will do a return trip south. my goal is to meet up with CC members along the way and hopefully not have to stay at any hotels. my first stop will probably be the TN area and have already posted on their local chapter forum. I am in need of help planning my trip i hope to see yall on my journey. thanks in advance for all of the help. my Estimated Departure Date is May 14th. only time lines i have to meet is be in IDAHO by memorial day weekend and back to TX by June 7th for police dept testing.

God bless and Semper Fi,

  Matt

Semper Fi bro and thanks for your sevice. I EAS'd in 92. It's a bitter sweet feeling. Your gonna miss it for sure, but you know when it's time. Maybe not the day to day grind but the guys that you served with and the ones ya left behind. I ended up joing the Guard(11B) in 2011. Ya an old man, especially a former jarhead, can hang still with these kids. Enjoy your trip and take plenty of pics!!

Assuming leaving from the Quantico area?  Probably heading due west, but if you are swinging down south a bit thru Richmond let me know.  I'll buy you a beer

Sorry bout that. Down here in south texas this area is known as the rio-grande-valley.Known for it's fertile soil.Mostly citris some vegatables. The climate is sub-tropical so trees & plants thrive in this area.Throw-some-smoke when you get in-state.
