Dead Comanche

Alright so 88 Comanche 4.0, 5 speed. Driving on Sunday doing about 60 and she just died, full on. Couldn't get it to fire again so trailered it home. Ended up putting in a new battery and coil started right up. Drove to school this morning and died about 5 miles in, sat for 15 or so minutes and fired back up. Got to campus and it died again, pushed it into a parking spot. Not sure what could be causing this? I've read it could be the CPS, or a ground issue? Anyone with experience please chime in. Hoping to resolve this quickly as we have snow in the forecast and this is my DD. Thanks

Try unplugging and reconnecting the CPS connector a couple of times. The connector is on the drvers side by the valve cover at the rear of the engine.

The symptoms sound like CPS. That's kind of what my '88 XJ did the second time it wanted a new CPS. The first time it gave no warning at all (or I was just lucky). That time I drove it home, parked in front of the garage, and the next morning it wouldn't start.

When the ignition/fuel box on my '86 Comanche with 2.5L was acting up I drove with the heater on and after 10 minutes it would shut off. Wait 3 -5 minutes and I'd hear a "CLINK" and it would start again. Turned out the defrost hose was off and blowing right against the computer box. It would over heat then cool and run again. Maybe it has a circuit breaker?
