HughMann Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 found here http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/upoa-etown-11-9-13-the-battle-is-over-but-the-war-g-1462098004 I was just looking at panther platform cars and how they do drag racing and came across this article and spotted the Comanche hiding in the back ground and thought you all would like it.
AeroNautical Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Nice find, what's it been modified to do? Almost looks like a tank platform, probably pretty heavy too, considering the 2 sets of axles and 8 tires in the back.

It is a jet engine and they use it for drying the track with the jet exhaust pointed towards the ground. That Comanche has shown up on here before.
Dirteatr717 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 This is at Englishtown Raceway in NJ, I've seen this truck in person, it's a pretty neat setup
yellaheep Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Interesting. I'm betting the rear axles are trailer axles and it's front wheel drive only.
Incommando Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Interesting. I'm betting the rear axles are trailer axles and it's front wheel drive only. Probably a good guess judging by how low the jet is mounted. Marauder...Ford had a chance to do something neat and instead did something very underwhelming.
AeroNautical Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 What I woulda done is gotten rid of those heavy differentials, transmission, driveshafts and 4.0, added rear facing thrust from the turbine engine and an awesome throttle quadrant inside the cab. Be hitting mach within a few seconds, now THAT is a land speed record.
