Motor Swap

Is there any way of insalling a motor without taking the grille panel off?

I pulled the 2.5L 4cyl with the grill panel in place.  I did remove the radiator. 

 

I did not pull the engine with the tranny however.  The tranny stayed in the truck. Last time I do that btw.

I have 6 cyl and it pulled fine but it doesnt look like it will fit unless I take out the grill panel or take parts off the firewall

I have NEVER removed the grill panel on a 4.0 to swap an engine. I don't even pull the radiator.

Do you still have the cross member in ?  If so take it out and your angle can be increased to give you more clearance.

 

(I am speaking here of course with the trans attached.....if just the motor going in..... drop your rear drive shaft and move the trans back for more room)
