zackcj7
I found a set of grey Cherokee Country door panels for sale close to me. They are the ones with the wood grain insert and are in good shape. Will these swap in place of my factory '88 door panels? I realize I will have to make a hole for the window crank, but will the door lock/latch and armrest position line up? Will the colors match? This is a photo of a Country door panel This is my interior What do you guys think?

Blue88Comanche
the front doors from a 4 door Cherokee will work (and so should the interior panel) I want to find some of those as well, not long ago i got a wood grain dash bezel Eagle you beat me to it lol Edited August 28, 2013 by Blue88Comanche
buffalob
Yes they will fit with no problem...don't know on the color match. I am dyeing mine the same color I did the rest of my interior panels (Chrysler agate). I can't imagine that the color would be any different than your current panels though. zackcj7
Thanks guys. I sent the seller an email. Hopefully he still has them. My driver's side door panel is in very poor shape. If I get them i'll have to find the woodgrain dash pieces to match.
buffalob
I scored my dash trim bezel off e-bay...they seem to come up pretty regular there. All the ones I have ever found at the local P&Ps always are cracked and or missing mount tabs.
HOrnbrod
Nice door panels. If you do get them, use a leather punch like below to make the window crank hole. An assorted sizes set is about $15. It works well. Any other way and you risk destroying the cardboard backing plate. I know.....................
87MJTIM
The openning on the driver's door for the electric window and locks will be longer than the existing openning on the old panel. This is because the XJ has the controls for all fours. So that you don't have an uncovered hole in the panel, you will need to trranfer the plate with the elec wind/lock. Please take a picture of your door with both the elec wind/lock and a hand crank
HOrnbrod
The XJ R & L front inner door handle plates are the same physical size whether it has four switches, two switches, or no switches. The OP's original inner door panels with no power window switches will fit the door panel openings just fine.
OneOverZero
I swapped them into a '90 with no issues, though bear in mind that the color won't quite match. Getting the crank hole positioned properly was the only issue and that only took a few seconds.
