Seller/buyer Feedback?

There has been some issues with sellers and buyers on CherokeeForum. How does ComancheClub feel about a feedback section or thread on experiences? I haven't bought anything on here but have sold a few parts. I try my best to arrange payment, get it shipped, and provide tracking numbers. I even sent a video of testing a cluster one time. Anyway, what's your opinions?

I believe the way Pete wants feedback handled is in the individual threads.  If a member is selling something, you buy it, you leave feedback in the original for sale thread.  This is why the classifieds aren't locked or deleted once the item is sold.

I think it would be a good idea to have a feedback thread.  Each topic being the members name. Each post inside would be feedback from either a buyer or seller with that person. Just one topic for each member.. Searching the classifieds for feedback seems extremely tedious. It is already tedious to find the parts to begin with.

I have been around here for 5 or 6 years at least.  I only can recall one, maybe two issues with a member here being a dead beat seller.  And I know at least one of those fellows squared things away after a period of time.  Not too worried about dead beat buyers, because if they don't send money, you don't send the goods.  Now, personally I have shipped things without getting payment in advance.  Maybe once I got stiffed.  But i KNEW what I was doing and it was only a couple of bucks, so no worries.  And I have observed more than a few folks here send needed items to another member for nothing or next to nothing.  Just to help out.

So I say we do not seem to have a problem here.  We are a relatively small group and as far as I know, the current system works with out too much work for anyone.

Personally over the last 3 or 4 months I got a super deal on a damn good tailgate that another member picked up at a pick a part yard in Los Angeles.  And I took care of a fellow needing tail lights when I found a great set in a San Diego yard.  Also found some decent drip rail molding an other member was looking for at a super bargain price ($6 for both - cost more than that to ship).  A few years ago, somebody here pointed me to a free SnugTop long bed shell 300 miles away.  I was also able to pass on a slightly damaged shell/topper to another member who was willing to pick it up (no charge).

Not trying to tell you I am a great fellow.  Just that there are a bunch of folks here who are willing to stretch and help a fellow Commanche owner.  Not many bad apples I know of.

johnj92131, you have been here way longer than me so I believe what you say. But take this into consideration, this is a pretty open site. There is no post count required to sell or even MJ ownership for an account. So its possible for someone to "sell" a part, get the money and move on. Seems that all is good now but you never know what could happen.

The plus side of my idea is that people with good buying and selling experiences would be even more trusted.

I think it is safe to say that if you are a regular around here, you know if a user is trustworthy or not.

I have been on several forums where there was a feedback thread. Those things are usually 100's of pages long. Good luck finding anything about user you are looking for.

If you are uneasy dealing with somebody in the 'Club, don't do it ;)
