Anyone ever put toyota axles under their mj? Heard they're totally bulletproof, so just curious why, seemingly, no one has ever changed over to them. Think they're actually stronger than the mj's D30?

They don't run them cuz there passenger side drop front axle and our MJs are driver side drop front And I think it could be possible but u have to get a t case set up for passenger side drop and that that is more work than finding a ford front axle or a Waggoner Dana 44 I heard there 2 inches wider than our stock axles

I thought most Jeep guys hated Toyotas is why its never been brought up. Be like putting a Ford motor in a Camaro.... :thwak:

I believe the Toyota axles would be too narrow for the MJ. Heck, a stock rear MJ axle is almost too narrow!

While Toyota axles are stronger than the common Jeep Dana's, they are far from bullet proof. That is why there are Toyota guys swapping their axles out for one ton axles.

Later model Toy axles from IFS trucks will have the wider rear axle.  It would be a good swap to match the 6-lug Waggy d44 front axle.  Even better is the Rodeo/Passport rear d44 as it is 6-lug with disc brakes, although 1" wheel spacers would be recommended.

I run a Waggy front axle but I'm narrowing a Ford HP44 to run Waggy shafts and outers.  Rodeo rear d44, spools in both.

Gotcha, didn't even think about which side the tcase would have to be on. I thought about how wide they were, and I didn't take measurements, but they didn't seem to be too different in width.
