GirsMJ86
Found these things in the new truck. I seem to recall seeing the plastic shield before on one of my old rigs, I want to think it goes on the front of the gas tank? The other thing I don't have the slightest clue. Biotex
Yup, skid plate for gas tank. Possibly a fender brace? Hard for me to tell how long it is...
87Warrior
That brace looks like the interior steering column braces behind the dash.
GirsMJ86
The brace is just over 18 inches end to end. Has a slight bend towards the middle.
Alexia
That brace looks like the interior steering column braces behind the dash.Looks like the one that goes from the left side of the cab up to the steering column.
GirsMJ86
So it is a steering column brace but it goes on the right side. Anyone able to tell me where about the other end goes? I can't locate the bolt anywhere, could be missing I suppose. Test fitting it the only place that seems to work is down by the gas pedal on one of the bolts that hold that bracket. Is that correct? dave92cherokee
Both bars go on the left bolt I believe. I will try to snap a pic in the morning for ya.
ftpiercecracker1
Both bars go on the left bolt This is correct. One bar bolts at a 90* angle to the steering column, just above the hood release handle. The other bar attachs to the left of the fuse box, it uses one of the parking brake mounting bracket bolts.
GirsMJ86
Ah well then I guess that right nut didn't want to come off for a reason. I will screw with it sometime this week then once I pick up a deep well socket since I'm lacking those in metric.
