87Chief Posted March 29, 2013 Author Posted March 29, 2013 The only place to get replacement DB are at the JY?
87Chief Posted April 1, 2013 Author Posted April 1, 2013 OK went to the junkyard.. found a 93 xj's front prop valve (DB) I noticed on the mj the front one has a hose in it.. I believe it goes to the prop valve in the rear.. Is this 'new' DB going to work?
HOrnbrod Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 If you are keeping your rear load sensing valve, pull the front plug and proportioning valve from the new XJ block, and replace the plug with the old MJ block plug. Then hook up the MJ load sensing valve brake line to the front port as before. You need to get rid of the prop valve inside the XJ block. BTW, was the MJ DB stripped?
87Chief Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 I haven't taken it off completely yet but I do believe the mj DB was stripped. Didn't go down as far as the xjs line did
87Chief Posted April 3, 2013 Author Posted April 3, 2013 I sprayed the connector ends with some pb blaster to hopefully loosen up the threads so it will be easier to take them off. Don't want to strip them. The block is stripped
87Chief Posted April 3, 2013 Author Posted April 3, 2013 Pics.. Old is on the left new on right.. Not sure what I have to do to get the new like the old one.. screw the end price off of the new one?
HOrnbrod Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 .. screw the end price off of the new one?Yes, and remove the brass proportioning valve inside.
87Chief Posted April 3, 2013 Author Posted April 3, 2013 .. screw the end price off of the new one?Yes, and remove the brass proportioning valve inside. And replace it with the old one correct?
87Chief Posted April 6, 2013 Author Posted April 6, 2013 My future father in law is going to the junkyard today to get a comanche specific proportioning valve.. Hopefully it will work correctly. Will post pics later.
87manche1 Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Just use the xj prop valve get rid of the load sensor
87Chief Posted April 6, 2013 Author Posted April 6, 2013 How would I go about doing that? Is the load sensor the one in the front?
87manche1 Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 On the axle just remove it and the extra line. Then u have 1 line for rear 2 for front
87manche1 Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Its in the dyi section under wj booster something like that
87manche1 Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 http://comancheclub.com/topic/4959-project-27/?hl=removing+load Was not under the wj still looking for more
87manche1 Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Best so far its really simple. http://comancheclub.com/topic/4016-xj-proportioning-valve/
