MtnClimber
So I finally experienced the infamous death wobble today (after several years of hearing about it.) It shook so bad it broke my speedometer cable where it attaches to the back of the cluster. My 88 Comanche has 4 new ball joints, and fairly new shocks (w/in 2 yrs) including the steering stabilizer, along w/a new trackbar. Where should I start looking for a new speedo cable? The sqaure end still spins but I've had no luck with superglueing the end back on.

Keyav8r
Jackson & Son Jeep Parts - Talladega, AL - (256) 362-7772 NOS Jeep parts. I've bought a 4WD speedo cable and an exhaust manifold from him for my 88 MJ. Pricing as good as (usually better than) online stores. Takes VISA and MC, not AMEX. I believe he will ship. If he has something you need and won't ship, PM me and we'll work it out to get it shipped. He's about 45 minutes from my work.

MtnClimber
So I just pulled my speedo cable out. It measures 74" long and is just the right length. Advance Auto shows it being 94" long (Dorman # 03269) RockAuto shows it 96" long (Dorman # 03269) Both are going to be waaay too long. Napa (BK 6151606) shows one being 87" long but it claims it's the lower cable (and w/cruise, which I do not have) and the cluster end is threaded vs. the push on type. my 2 spare clusters are both push on type as well. Any suggestions/idea's? :???:
nitroxsteve
I used the one from advance and I' sure it was longer just not sure how much. I had plenty of room for the extra cable. I pushed a little more into the engine compartment and a bigger bend in the rear section. I have about 10K miles on it with no problems.
