tubpilot
I just got a new set of springs made from my local spring shop. They are a 4+1 set up with a military wrap around the front eye.
tubpilot
Yes, my garage has stained carped with burn holes from welding and grinding. It's comfy on my feet when I'm wearing socks (like in this picture), and when it's almost freezing out it's really nice.
shelbyluvv
More details would be helpful. As is the shop name and price for the pair. Any lift or are the stock arch?
tubpilot
They're stock height (being used in a spring over), load rating should be around 1550lbs (stock 1300lbs, metric ton 1700lbs). Hub city spring in Nanaimo British Columbia made them and they where $560.
HOrnbrod
Do you know the free arch measurement for these 4+1 leaf packs? If used for SOA they should crank it up maybe 7"-8" looks like. Especially with the load rating you posted.
skidoo_j
I wish i would have had Military wrap on mine when i had them built. Assuming that it does reduce axle wrap.
tubpilot
I would have to measure the free arch. It should be between a regular spring and a metric ton as far as ride height. I could use a couple inches more lift than the stock springs as it's riding a little low in the back. The springs that are in it are pretty saggy, I have to re-aim the headlights when I remove the 33" spare tire! New springs will sag a bit after installation, we'll see, I might have to lift the front a bit to level it out.
Biotex
http://comancheclub.com/topic/36694-military-wrapped-springs-with-lift-group-buy/ Going to be a lot cheaper that $560.
buffalob
is that $ 560.00 Canadian?
Mountain Dude
Canadian and US dollars are almost on par. I bought a new set of S10 springs from Canada Parts Online for $350 shipped to my door. their US website is usautoparts.net http://www.usautoparts.net/catalog/?N=10857+4294963734+1557+11921+4294960698
tubpilot
It was Canadian dollars. General spring price is $220 per spring, maybe a bit cheaper for a group buy. Shipping to Canada plus brokerage and duty adds up a bit. I like to support my local shops when the price is reasonable, but General spring supporting Comanche club is worth supporting too.
