Ax-15 Trashed At P&p

Gotta vent. Went by P&P today to check on new arrivals. XJ with AX-15 - some moron pulled the trans just to take the shifter. Looks like he did it with a hammer and chisel, left the crossmember hanging by one bent bolt. Even tore up the shifter boot instead of taking it off. I really could have used the whole thing - external slave!

You don't need the whole thing for the external slave stuff. Go back and grab the bellhousing, clutch fork, and bearing retainer.

My biggest gripe is the Dorks that tears up a $100 worth of parts just to get a $1 item. Stupid, lazy inconsiderate MF'S.< and yes, that means just what you think it does.

It certainly wouldn't hurt to grab the master/slave, but I didn't mention those because that can be bought new. I would see if you can get the whole thing for cheap though, as there's a good chance the trans is shot. Also grab that crossmember, AX-15 ones are getting harder and harder to find.

Will the bell housing, etc work with my BA-10? I'll probably go back for those parts and the crossmember on the chance I may find an AX-15 somewhere down the road.

Jim - I totally agree with your description of these JY rats. By the way, did you return the bus or just leave it on the side of the road after wiping off you fingerprints?

Yes, but would you trust a used one? Those can be bought anywhere.

What was so trashed about it? You can get just about any part from Novak or Advance Adapters.

He's implying it's trashed because someone yanked the shifter and left the inside of the case exposed to the elements.

 

Although, if it had a good amount of oil in it yet, it may have survived and just needs to be cleaned out.
